Wearguard
Minprovise is a national distributor for Huntsman Advanced Materials, a pioneer and world leader in epoxy technology. Based on long term experience in developing epoxies for demanding applications, Huntsman Advanced Materials offer a range of toughened, impact-resistant epoxies that feature outstanding chemical and abrasion resistance. The epoxies are specially designed for resurfacing, lining and rebuilding equipment used in mining, marine, power and processing industries.
Wearguard epoxies are 100% solids, ceramic-filled systems that offer outstanding performance characteristics including:
- Superior corrosion/erosion resistance
- Excellent abrasion resistance
- Good impact resistance
Wearguard comprises of four types of materials:
- Abrasion resistant systems for protecting pumps, cyclones, particulate-handling machinery and other equipment in which surfaces are frequently damaged from exposure to rough materials.
- Corrosion resistant epoxies for resurfacing and lining pumps, condensers, cooling towers and fluid-handling equipment exposed to corrosive and erosive substances.
- Metal repair materials for repairing and resurfacing pump housings, casings and pipes used in a variety of maintenance situations.
- Tile bonding epoxies formulated to provide outstanding adhesion to ceramics.
Product range:
Wearguard XMH8507 – An impact resistant epoxy filled with micro-size ceramic beads. Ideal for applications less than 1/8” or feathering over areas requiring good resistance to fine particle abrasion.
Wearguard XMH8708 – A high abrasion and impact resistance epoxy filled with large diameter ceramic spheres. Ideal for parts exposed to impact abrasive media or corrosive slurries.
Wearguard XMH8510 – A ceramic filled corrosion resistant paste used to protect and repair part surfaces subject to corrosion effects of impingement, cavitation, entrainment or bimetallic corrosion.
Wearguard XMH8526 – A room temperature fast curing epoxy system toughened with an elastomeric modifier to increase elongation and erosion resistance capabilities for protecting and repairing part surfaces.
